Have you been seeing lots of daddy-long legs about recently?

Islanders have been spotting them all around Jersey, but environmentalists say there has not actually been an increase.

The reason we are seeing so many more is because of the very dry summer followed by lots of rain so far in the Autumn.

But they also say they will not be around for much longer.

They started emerging about a week ago and they've probably got about another week for the main fly.

You will see them throughout the Autumn because they do stagger a little bit but generally speaking their life-span is 10 days to a fortnight and that's it.
