A plane flying to Jersey made an emergency landing because of a technical fault with the aircraft.

It was flying from the East Midlands on Sunday 13 October.

A passenger on the Flybe flight told ITV News they saw electric sparks in the toilet compartment.

The BE1544 East Midlands flight was diverted to Birmingham Airport where the plane landed safely.

All 59 passengers were put on alternative flights and continued with their journey. No one was harmed.

The safety of its passengers and crew is Flybe’s number one priority and the airline apologises for any inconvenience experienced.
