The restrictions on buskers in Jersey could be lifted for the whole of 2020.

New proposals suggest the current permit fee of £30 should be removed, and amplification should be allowed.

In addition, the requirement that all money raised from busking during the month of December be given to charity could change.

The proposals have been put forward by Deputy Montfort Tadier, Jersey's Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture.

I just think we need a bigger push when it comes to busking in Jersey and street entertainment.

We need to make the town more vibrant and I think one of the ways we do that is by looking at the regulations and updating them.

– Deputy Montfort Tadier, speaking to ITV Channel TV in December 2018
