Jersey actor Jonny Labey's time on X Factor: Celebrity has come to an end.

However, after saying he had 'set the standard' in the first live show, Simon Cowell was less impressed with his second live performance, describing it as 'too corny' and 'too cabaret'.

Jonny found himself in the bottom two with journalist and broadcaster Martin Bashir, who forgot his lines during his rendition the Commodores song 'Easy'

Simon Cowell refused to send home either contestant and the decision went to a public vote. Dermot O'Leary then announced that Jonny had received less votes and would be leaving the competition.

On hearing the news, Jonny said he had been grateful for the opportunity.

To go from the safe seat to this is position was a definite shock. It's been really nice to get in touch with music again. I felt like I had a lot more to give but it's a competition at the end of the day.

I respect everyone here and I thank everyone for the opportunity. I'm sad to be going home but thank you to everyone who voted, I love you all.
