A bucket containing 30 dead chicks has been found in a car park in St Martin, Guernsey.

The Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) has asked for anyone with more information to get in contact.

The disposal of any life in such a way is disgusting It is not clear if the birds were privately owned or whether a member of the public had taken it upon themselves to dispose of feral chicks in the area.

Lorna Prince, GSPCA Welfare Manager.

Members of the public who might have come in touch with the bucket of dead chicks are being warned to wash their hands due to a risk of salmonella.
