Residents in Guernsey are being warned over traders selling potentially dangerous generators on the island.

Trading Standards have received reports of a visiting salesperson selling portable generators and similar goods on the islands.

They warn that the generators are a little-known brand and may not meet the appropriate EU and UK manufacturing standards.

The trader is believed to have left the island and anyone who bought one is unlikely to be able to trace them to get a refund. Those who paid by cheque or cash can cancel the payment by making immediate contact with their bank.

We would advise members of the public not to buy from cold callers without first taking the opportunity to shop around.

Anyone who has bought one of the items is advised not to use them and to make contact with Trading Standards by calling 234567 or by emailing tradingstandards@gov.gg.
