A Romanian school has become the first of its kind to open in Jersey.

The Romanian Association in Jersey are running the sessions on Sunday mornings between 9am and 11am at Plat Douet school.

The aim is to encourage children up to the age of 12 to learn more about the country's history, traditions and language.

Children from all backgrounds are welcome, and the team say they hope this will encourage all nationalities to live together as a "big Jersey family".

It's really important to bring children here so they don't forget their roots and their traditions, but so they can become a part of this big family called Jersey.
