Jersey fighter Monika Markowska has brought home a regional boxing title, just days before setting off to compete at the kickboxing world championships.
Representing the Jersey Leonis club, she landed the southern area flyweight title after winning on points in London and is the first woman from the island to do so.
Markowska - a former world champion in kickboxing - only began boxing last year and underwent knee surgery at the start of 2019.
Later this week, she will depart for Turkey to represent Great Britain in the kickboxing world championships where she is targeting the top of the podium once again.
But she told ITV News she also hopes to take her boxing further and is already thinking about embarking on a professional career if her age means she is no longer allowed to compete in the amateur arena.
