Lifeguards have given CPR to a swimmer spotted in trouble at AquaSplash.
Lifeguards initially noticed a swimmer in difficulty on 20 November and responded immediately.
Paramedics were called to the pool whilst staff used a defibrillator to restart the heart of the swimmer.
The person still remains in hospital.
The Chief Paramedic praised the lifeguards actions.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our lifeguards for the way they responded to this incident. Their conduct has been praised by the Chief Paramedic, who attended the scene, and informed me that they did a ‘fantastic job’. We also had a visit last week from the Director of the Health & Safety Inspectorate, who further commended our lifeguarding team in relation to this.
