More than 5,500 people in Guernsey have signed up to the electoral roll less than a week after it was opened.

2,111 people have registered online with 3,403 people using paper registration forms.

People who are eligible to vote in Guernsey’s election next year can register online at or using one of the registration forms sent to every household in Guernsey.

The election will be the first fully island-wide election, after islanders voted for it in a referendum last year.

To be eligible to vote, islanders need to be 16 years of age by the 17 June 2020 and have been resident in Guernsey for two years continuously or for five years if having left and returned.

The deadline for applications to the electoral roll is 30 April 2020.
