Kerbside recycling scheme begins in St Peter

Kerbside recycling is being rolled out in St Peter.

Homes in the parish have been provided with recycling boxes or bins which will allow paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and metal waste to be collected and recycled from the roadside.

St Peter has been working with Premier Waste Management and Jersey's Department for Growth, Housing and Environment to introduce the scheme following a vote in July 2019.

I am delighted to be launching this scheme in St Peter. This is a small but very powerful contribution that everyone in the Parish can make towards more sustainable island living. It is the right thing to do and I will be putting my recycling box out for collection this week and in the weeks to come.

Connétable Richard Vibert, Connétable for St Peter

Currently eight of the 12 parishes on the island either offer or are preparing to offer kerbside recycling.
