20 new volunteers have joined the GSPCA.

An induction meeting was held to introduce the new recruits to the charity, and to give them a briefing on health and safety procedures.

The volunteers will work in a number of roles, ranging from operating the ambulance service to managing administration for the charity.

12 of the new volunteers have got involved as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

GSPCA manager Steve Byrne says he is delighted to have them on board.

It was a lovely evening and we are so grateful to all that came along and we are looking forward to getting everyone involved from helping with the ambulance to admin, fund raising to helping with the animals.

We couldn’t achieve so much without our amazing volunteers and with over 100 helping every week and over 800 every year it is incredible what we are able to achieve at the GSPCA helping animals and the community in so many ways.

– Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager

The charity will be holding more induction events later this year and urges anyone interested in volunteering to get in touch.
