A hundred trees and shrubs are being planted to celebrate the centenary of the Channel Islands Co-operative.

The trees and hedgerows are being planted in Grouville with the help of Jersey Trees for Life.

The work will help towards creating a 'living corridor' around the island with the aim of protecting wildlife and keeping animals away from busy roads.

Since 2007, Jersey Trees for Life have planted over 50,000 individual hedgerows and more than 5,000 trees.
