£1,500 and cigarettes stolen from Guernsey garage

A man has been arrested and released on bail following a burglary in Guernsey on Monday morning.

Cigarettes and over £1,500 was stolen from Northern Motor Works.

The burglary took place at the garage on Grandes Maison Road between 2:30am and 4am on Monday 27 January.

Guernsey Police say the male has been released "while further enquiries are carried out".

Guernsey Police are asking for information from the public and that anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage from along or near that road check their footage.

Over the coming days and weeks, if you’re offered cigarettes to buy we ask that you call us, as they could well be they are stolen.

This appears to be an isolated incident, so there is no need for wider concern.
