Man arrested for attempted murder in Alderney

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Alderney.

It follows a domestic disturbance in the early hours of the morning.

A 55-year-old woman was treated in hospital overnight and later sent to Guernsey for further medical treatment.

She is in a stable condition.

We have deployed additional police resources to Alderney in order to carry out our investigation and the public will see a higher presence than usual. We want to reassure the public we are not looking for any further suspects, nor is there any wider risk to the community.
