Two men who raped and indecently assaulted a teenager more than 30 years ago have been jailed for a total of 14 years.

Anthony Quant and Ian Pryor, who are both 51-years-old, attacked the young girl at St Aubin's Fort in the 80s.

Mr Quant, who is currently serving a 12 year sentence for abusing other victims, received an additional six years in prison - totalling 18 years for all of his historical offences.

They appeared before Jersey's Royal Court today, where the Superior Number heard graphic details about the attacks.

On behalf of the victim, the Crown said she felt like she "was going to die", and suffered severe psychological harm.

The offences, which took place decades ago, have devastated the life of the victim. She has had to live with the trauma of that night for many years and still carries an unimaginable burden.

It has taken enormous bravery for her to come forward and be heard. Support will be available to her for as long as it is required.

The States of Jersey Police have a dedicated Historic Abuse Team who will investigate any allegations of historic abuse, regardless of when they took place.

These cases are extremely complex and difficult to investigate but the convictions of Quant and Pryor demonstrate what is possible and we are committed to continuing this work.

Those perpetrators who are yet to be caught should never rest easy, no matter how much time has passed.
