Fibre broadband will be upgraded for free in Jersey during the Coronavirus pandemic.
JT, Sure and Homenet have agreed all broadband connections will be increased to one gigabit upload and download speed. That is 20 times quicker than the average broadband speed in the UK.
This means the average home will have much faster internet speeds.
They hope this will help those working from home and self isolating.
Work to increase broadband speeds will take place over the next two weeks.
The free upgrade will last for as long as Coronavirus measures are in place. After people will have the choice to pay extra and keep the fast speed or revert to their normal plan.
