Parking time limits relaxed during Guernsey lockdown

Parking time limits have been relaxed in Guernsey during the lockdown.

Police advised islanders on social media that all disc parking zones are temporarily suspended and as long as vehicles are legally parked, they will not get a ticket.

Public car parks will be available to park in without time restriction as they are disc zones. Beau Sejour is also available.

Essentially, anywhere you would usually put a clock to allow you to park, you will not need to do during the stay at home instruction.

Officers wanted to reassure islanders and say they 'recognise that where you leave your car could be causing you additional anxiety'.

However, they did ask that people try to ease the pressure on public car parks in the more built up areas of St Peter Port.

Pressure on parking infrastructure, especially in our more built up areas of St Peter Port is likely to be immense. This means you might not be able to park in your preferred place. Can you leave your car at your work, a colleagues or friends house?

Remember to take your valuables and anything else you might need from your car when you park, AND to lock up.
