There will be no passenger sailings on Condor boats until the end of April.

The ferry operator had originally cancelled sailings until the beginning of April. However it has now been extended to the end of the month due to imposed constraints on travel.

The decision was made to minimise the effects of the coronavirus outbreak and ensure food and other items are supplied to the islands.

The company stopped allowing passengers on-board on Monday 16 March.

Since then the Clipper and the Commodore Goodwill have operated from Portsmouth to Guernsey and Jersey with freight only.

The Chief Executive of Condor says the freight option is operating well and the islands' supply chains are safe.

I am pleased to report that our lifeline freight operation is working well and proof that our decision to switch to a sterile working environment to protect the supply chain was the right one.

Our contact teams will be extremely busy during this period and we ask for patience due to the unprecedented changes to the schedule.
