Guernsey school admissions letters will not be sent out until further notice due to coronavirus

Credit: ITV Channel TV

Letters telling parents and pupils which schools they have been accepted into in Guernsey will be delayed because of coronavirus.

This includes every pupil that has applied to primary or secondary school.

Letters were meant to be sent to parents at the end of the Spring term.

The States has not given an exact date of when they will be sent out but have advised parents to check their website for updates.

For both Primary and Secondary admissions, it was expected that we would inform parents of their children’s placements for September 2020 by the end of this term.

Due to the need to focus on the response to the coronavirus pandemic, unfortunately we are unable to fulfil that expectation. We realise that this is important information for both parents and children and are working to get the information to them as soon as possible.

Please be assured that as soon as we have a realistic date, it will be published on the website at www.gov.gg/schooladmissions.’
