The Channel Islands Air Ambulance, which provides a lifeline link between the Channel Islands and the UK, has now been taken over by Gama Aviation.

From 18 July, the current contract holder, Capital Air Ambulance, transferred all of its services - including related assets and key personnel - to Gama.

The governments of Jersey and Guernsey have agreed an initial contract of five years, with the option to extend by up to another five years.

Gama Aviation has been a provider of air ambulance services to NHS Scotland for nearly three decades.
