The Channel Islands remember the fallen

Islanders across the Channel Islands marked Armistice Day today.

A 21 gun salute was fired in Guernsey and memorials were held in Jersey and Sark.

St Anne's pupils honour the fallen

Pupils from St Anne's in Alderney paid respect to those who have lost their lives in conflict.

At 11am they observed a two minute silence, marking the anniversary of WWI formally ending.

Year one and two pupils fell silent

They also made their own poppies, with paint, pencils and lego.

Twenty one gun salute in Guernsey marks remembrance

A 21 gun salute was fired at Castle Cornet in Guernsey today on Armistice Day.

It marked the beginning of a two minute silence to remember islanders who lost their lives in conflict.

The cannon fired again at 11:02am, at the end of the silence.
