An online betting firm licenced in Alderney has been told by the British Gambling Commission to pay outstanding winnings.
Metroplay, which also runs 666bet.com, has had its license suspended by the Alderney Gambling Commission following the arrest of one of their key directors.
The Commission says the suspension is a precautionary measure and will remain in place whilst a review into the company takes place.
Alderney's emergency services will be soon be bolstered by the introduction of the island's own civil protection volunteers.
So far Alderney has relied on help from Guernsey to tackle disruption after severe weather and with missing person searches.
Now Guernsey officers will be training Alderney's own Civil Protection volunteers to help their community.
