Jersey Air Display needs more sponsors

The organiser of the Jersey Air Display says they need more sponsors to come forward.

The event's main sponsor retired last year, after donating more than £1 million to the display.

Since then the government has agreed to underwrite the event, by giving up to £189,500.

Deputy Mike Higgins, who organises the display, says they already have sponsorship in place which means the Economic Development Department wouldn't need to give that much, but he is seeking more funding to reduce the amount further.

He says selling programmes will be useful too.
