Jersey Police have called the land search for missing electrician Adrian Lynch 'unprecedented.'
The 20-year-old hasn't been seen for four weeks after going missing following a work Christmas Party on Friday 4th December.
Thousands of man hours have have been spent looking for him in and around the area he was last seen in in St Lawrence.
Active searching has now stopped, but Detective Superintendent Stewart Gull says efforts went beyond what has ever been done before.
Officers have outlined 250 lines of inquiry in the case, with 170 still outstanding. They have also been to 500 hours and collected CCTV from 35 different premises.
The father of Adrian Lynch has said his family can finally move forward, after the inquest into his death was closed.
The service began at 2:30pm this afternoon at the Methodist Centre in town.
Family and friends will gather in St Helier today, for a memorial service for Adrian Lynch.
