Same-sex marriages in Guernsey a step closer

Plans to introduce same-sex marriages in Guernsey are a step closer, with the group dedicated to looking at the proposals having their first meeting today.

Politicians in Guernsey voted to approve same-sex marriage in December last year.

37 States Members voted to approve the legislation, seven voted against it.

The group is now looking at changing the marriage rules to allow weddings outdoors, in hotels and at people's own homes.
