'Out of this world' makeover for x-ray room at Guernsey hospital

It's an x-ray... but not as you know it!

A trip to hospital can be very daunting for anyone, but even more so for a child who is in Accident and Emergency after getting injured.

But now, this has all changed!

To try and make the experience a little less frightening, and a little bit more out of this world, the x-ray room at Guernsey's Princess Elizabeth Hospital has been transformed.

It has been turned into a 'spaceship', complete with astronauts and aliens, all designed and put together by the Guernsey Arts Commission and Arts for Impact.

It is the main x-ray for children who suffer trauma and are referred from A&E, so it is hoped the new look walls will help capture their imagination and distract them from the procedure.

The new look room also coincides with the installation of a brand new state of the art x-ray machine at the hospital.
