English Civil War diary brought to life in the digital age

A diary written by a Jerseyman during the English Civil War has been revived by Jersey Heritage, with a new digital version made for your tablet and phone.

The Journal of Jean Chevalier is considered one of the most precious documents in Jersey history, recording everyday life during the turbulent period.

It remained in the hands of Chevalier's descendants until around 100 years ago when it was purchased by Société Jersiaise. It is now housed in the Jersey Museum.

The latest version also includes a new translation, making the document accessible to people of all ages for the very first time.
