Islands send congratulations to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

The Islands have extended their congratulations to Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle after their engagement yesterday afternoon. The Bailiwick of Guernsey posted their message to The Household of His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales this morning.

The Lieutenant-Governor, the Bailiff of Guernsey, the President of the States of Alderney, the Seigneur of Sark and all of Her Majesty's loyal subjects in our Bailiwick wish to congratulate Your Royal Highness and Miss Meghan Markle on your engagement.

Jersey voiced their well-wishes to the couple yesterday afternoon in the States meeting and the Bailiff said he hoped they would one day visit the island.

The Lieutenant-Governor of Jersey has also added his and Lady Dalton's congratulations.

The announcement of the engagement between His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales to Miss Meghan Markle is wonderful news. This is an exciting and special time for any couple and I am sure that the whole Island will join Anne and me in sending His Royal Highness and Miss Markle our warmest congratulations and wishing them every happiness for the future.
