The Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey has added three more athletes to its team for Gold Coast 2018.

Swimmers Gemma Atherley and Harry Shalamon and triathlete Ollie Turner will all make their Games debuts next April.

It means Team Jersey will be represented in eight sports in Australia and takes the total size of their team to 32, one short of the 33 places the island was allocated.

Atherley and Turner both brought home gold medals from this summer’s Island Games, while Shalamon has some Commonwealth experience having swum at the Youth Games in Samoa two years ago.

We are delighted to have added two more sports to the Jersey team. This gives us representation in shooting, lawn bowls, athletics, badminton, cycling, gymnastics, swimming and triathlon. The 33rd slot hasn’t been filled though there may be members who decide to appeal.
