A singer from the Wirral will find our tonight if he's won the chance to play the lead in the latest version of Jesus Christ Superstar.

24-year-old Rory Taylor from Heswall made it through to the last three hopefuls of ITV's talent show "Superstar" yesterday evening.

If successful, Rory will perform alongside former Liverpool Spicegirl Mel C in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's tour of the musical.

Rory says his love of music comes from listening to tapes of Elton John and Queen in his parents' car.

He said appearing on the show has already been "life-changing".

"I've had the chance to meet some of my idols, work with an amazing music team and make some great friends."

The live final is at 9 o'clock tonight on ITV1.
