Tributes have been paid to a young teacher and her boyfriend who have died after an accident on a dune buggy in the Middle East.

Charlotte Sant, understood to be from Manchester, was killed when the vehicle overturned in a horrific crash whilst visiting sand dunes in Qatar on Saturday.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Charlotte was employed by Wellacre Academy in Flixton.

It is understood she and her 24-year-old boyfriend and former Liverpool John Moores University graduate Eamonn Morgan, who also died, moved to the country year ago and had been working as PE teachers at an international school.

Two other friends who were visiting the couple from Ireland were also on the sand dune trip and were injured in the crash.

They are currently being treated in hospital in the country’s capital Doha and are both said to be stable.

And tributes have begun to flood in for ‘sweet girl’ Charlotte and her partner, who has graduated from university in Liverpool.

The pair were keen Gaelic Football players and the chairman of Gaelic Athletic Association in Qatar, Peter Crowe, said

It’s with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of two of our members, two of our friends, two of our family.

I had the privilege of playing with Eamonn for the past year, an absolute gent, never to be seen without a smile on his face and the definition of a ‘character’ as we’d say back home.

I also had the pleasure of training Charlotte for the past year, a sweet girl who took to a new sport with more enthusiasm than you could ever ask for.

Eamonn and Charlotte will be sorely missed.
