UKIP deputy leader Paul Nuttall will be among those taking part in a protest against Mersey tunnel tolls on Monday morning between 7.30 am - 10 am.

The party is totally opposed to the principle of tolls and the demonstration is part of a campaign fighting against "this toll on motorists".

Mr Nuttall, the region's MEP, said that the issue has become even more contentious this year with proposals to use money raised by the tolls to finance an HS2 to Liverpool.

The protest is to be held between 7.30 - 10 am on the Oakdale Road bridge, Wallasey, where it crosses the tunnel entrance.
