Police investigate fighting after Man Utd v Liverpool at Old Trafford

Police were forced into action following Manchester United’s clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford after fights broke out among rival fans.

There were reports of chairs and missiles being thrown on the top tier of the East Stand just prior to the full-time whistle.

The trouble was ignited after Liverpool supporters sat among Untied fans unfurled a banner following the equalising goal.

Police and United bosses are now likely to examine CCTV footage in a bid to find those involved.

A number of fans took to social media to report that seats were ripped out and thrown by fans following the full time whistle.
