This is the moment firefighters tackled a blazing car after a suspected arson attack in Levenshulme.
Panicked residents dialled 999 after a ‘loud bang’ was heard on Rushmere Avenue at 9.30pm on Tuesday evening.
Crews arrived to find a vehicle engulfed in flames.
The dramatic footage from the scene shows firefighters braving the inferno to douse the fire, leaving behind the shell of a destroyed car.
One fire crew from Gorton station attended the blaze.They used breaking-in gear and breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said the fire involved a Toyota Aygo and is thought to have been started deliberately.
An investigation into the attack is continuing.
