Detectives are appealing for information following a man was hit by his own van in Oswaldtwistle.

Around 7.30pm on Saturday (August 13), a 24-year-old man parked his Fiat Scudo van on Haslingden Old Road.

He got out of the vehicle and walked towards three men outside the Britannia Pub.

One of the three males is reported to have entered the victim's van and driven it at the 24-year-old man, causing him to collide with the bonnet and roof.

The van was driven off and later found abandoned on Haslingden Old Road on the motorway bridge over the M65.

The other two men then made off from the scene.

The victim suffered cuts and bruises and went to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment.

Two of the males are described as white and one male is described as mixed race.

Det Sgt Melissa Kelly, of Blackburn CID, said:

The victim in this case has been subjected to a serious collision and an investigation is on-going to identify the persons responsible.

Fortunately the victim has sustained relatively minor injuries and is recovering well.

We are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area or in the Britannia Pub on Saturday evening.

If anyone saw the group in the area at the time or has any information that could assist with our enquiries I would urge them to contact us as soon as possible.
