Police are investigating after an elderly man was attacked and robbed in his own home.

The man, in his eighties, opened the door to a man claiming to be a security guard, who then forced his way into the house on Kidacre Walk, in Manchester, on Sunday, November 13.

He assaulted the victim, pushing him to the floor, before searching his bedroom. The man then continued to assault the elderly man by kicking him.

The man then fled with cash after being confronted by a concerned neighbour.

He is described as being mixed race, aged in his mid-30s, between 6ft and 6ft 2in tall, of stocky build and with short shaved hair. He was wearing a yellow high-vis jacket with “security” on the back.

This was a brutal attack on a defenceless man. No-one should be subjected to something like this in their own home. I urge anyone who may have seen a man matching the description in the area at the time to call police and let us know what they saw.
