The family of a man who vanished after a suspected assault at a New Year’s Eve party are appealing for help to find him. Police believe Steven Dyson, 22, may be seriously injured after being attacked at a party on St Andrew’s Close in Ramsbottom in the early hours of New Year’s Day. They are concerned he may need ‘urgent medical attention’ following the alleged assault.

Steven went to the party after visiting the Grey Mare Pub on Bolton Street and Longsight Service Station on Longsight Road in Bury at about 3am on Monday 1st January. He is then believed to have been attacked during a ‘brawl’ at the party, before walking away at about 9am.

He was due to go back to his home on Beechwood Avenue, about a 25 minute walk away, but he never turned up. A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody for questioning.

“There was a big brawl at this party. We don’t know what injuries he’s got. Everyone at the party needs to tell the truth. We don’t know where he is, his phone is dead. His good friends say they don’t know where he is.”

Steven is described as white, around 5 ft. 11 ins., of a slim build, with short, dark hair that is longer on the top. He was wearing a leather jacket with a grey top, black skinny jeans and grey boots when he disappeared.

“Steven’s family are becoming increasingly concerned after not hearing from him for such a long time. He may be in urgent need of medical attention, so the sooner we can find him, the better. Please take a good look at the picture of Steven and do what you can so we can reunite this young man with his loved ones, who are desperate to hear from him.”
