A fictional soap storyline which Coronation Street bosses hope will get people talking about a real life issue.

David Platt, who's played by Jack P Shepherd will be drugged and raped by another man.

Writers worked with the Survivors charity to develop the script, and it's hoped it'll encourage more people to seek help.

One man who did just that was Sam Thompson. He was raped by two men after a night out in Manchester

Sam has wavied his right to anonymity to tell us his story.

He spoke to our reporter Lise McNally.
