The ‘Amazed by Science’ family festival is running across Cheshire throughout the half term break.

And the team are determined to increase the levels for female participation up from 45% in 2017.

Researchers in Australia reveal that it may take up to 100 years to close the gender gap in the world of science and its vital to attract more girls to take up Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, or STEM, subjects in school.

Latest figures show that women currently make up just 23% of the STEM workforce.
