Dog walker 'could hold vital clues' in hit and run investigation

Police are trying to trace a dog walker who could be a key witness to a suspected hit and run in Lancaster.

Officers were called to Morecambe Road on Tuesday - a pedestrian had been hit by a van and left in a serious condition.

A blue Transit Van was abandoned in Fairhope Avenue, and two men, wearing light coloured tops, were seen to run down the alley towards Richmond Avenue.

As they ran, they passed a woman walking a small dog.

We would like to speak to the woman dog walker as she may hold vital clues to help us identify the men who ran away.

A young woman should be celebrating her 21st birthday today, but is in hospital with serious injuries.

The two men are being urged to hand themselves in.
