Mystery little girl's gesture for dog walkers 'restores faith in humanity'

Dogs and their owners walking in Stockport have been treated to a nice surprise - courtesy of a little girl called Megan.

Tony Evans was walking his husky Nook along the Peak Forest Canal when he saw that fresh water and a pouch of dog biscuits had been left out for any passing pets.

Security guard Tony says he was taken aback at the thoughtful gesture and is now trying to find out exactly who Megan is, so he can thank her.

"It's just so sweet and a really lovely thing to do," he said. "I would just like to try and track her down and thank her, really.

It's thought Megan is only five or six years old, based on the handwriting.

"The water is fresh as well and she must be coming to top it up each day."

It left me with a lump in my throat and I'm a big, burly bloke.

I just hope this gets back to her somehow as she should know its appreciated and her parents should also be really proud.
