Passengers face yet more disruption with rail staff planning more walk outs into November.

The Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers Union has confirmed more strike dates in their long running dispute over the role of guards

A planned walk-out is taking place this Saturday from 12am to 11.59pm, which could cause problems for rugby league fans travelling to Old Trafford for the Super League Grand Final.

It will be the 31st day of strike action disrupting the rail network since the row erupted.

Union members have also been instructed to not work on Saturday October 27, Saturday November 3 and Saturday November 10.

Northern Rail want to run nearly half a million trains a year without a guard on board.
