This shocking picture shows a pensioner who suffers from Alzheimer's in hospital after a scrambler yob smashed into her wheelchair.
An off-road motorbike collided with the 87-year-old woman near the Oval sports ground in Bebington, Wirral, at around 2.50pm on Saturday [October 20].
When the emergency services arrived they found they found the pensioner, whose first name is Beryl, trapped under her own wheelchair.
She was taken to Arrowe Park hospital by ambulance.
A photograph of Beryl in hospital was posted on social media with the message:
A friend of the family said Beryl, who was out with her daughter at the time of the incident, suffered three broken ribs and bruises to her body.
In a statement, Beryl's family said:
The family friend said Beryl was left "shocked and traumatised" after the incident. She is recovering in hospital.
In the moments before the crash the scrambler bike is thought to have been spotted on Town Lane, before entering Townfield Land and heading in the direction of Oaklands Drive.
The rider and pillion passenger left a black scrambler bike at the scene following the collision.
One of the males was described as being around 14 years old and wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a top.
Officers are making enquiries to locate both riders of the motorcycle.
