Fire services across the North West are urging people to follow safety instructions this Bonfire Night.

It comes after a busy weekend for crews - with Greater Manchester being called out to 48 bonfire related incidents last night.

The force tweeted that their work was made more difficult by attacks on crews as they made their way to incidents in Manchester and Ashton:

Elsewhere Merseyside Fire has taken to social media to remind people that organised, official fireworks displays are the safest way to enjoy the festivities.

Remember, remember, on the 4th November... Attending an organised fireworks display is a safer way to enjoy the bonfire period.
