Two men have been arrested by police investigating the murder of a woman who is thought to have suffered serious head injuries.
The body of Leanne Unsworth, 40, was discovered at her home in Burnley, Lancashire, at about 7.15pm on Monday after the ambulance service attended.
On Tuesday afternoon, two men, aged 38 and 39, from Burnley were arrested in Wythenshawe, Greater Manchester, on suspicion of her murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Zoe Russo, from Lancashire Police's major investigation team, said: "We are aware of a number or rumours circulating locally and would ask people not to speculate on the facts whilst we carry out our investigation for the sake of Leanne's family.
"We are continuing to support them through this devastating time.
"I would like to reassure people that we believe Leanne's killer was known to her and there is nothing to suggest that there is a wider threat to the public.
"My advice to people is to carry on with their daily business as usual.
"Despite these arrests, our investigation is still live and we need anyone with information to come forward.
"If you saw anyone in or around the area acting suspiciously, particularly between the hours of 5pm and 7pm, please get in touch."
A post-mortem examination is due to take place later.
Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident reference 1155 of January 14.
