Teenager due in court after puppy stolen from eight-year-old

A teenager from Crewe is due to appear in court after a puppy was stolen from an eight-year-old.

The 14-year-old cannot be named for legal reasons.

Mela, a Jack Russell Terrier puppy, was taken from her owner while she was being walked in Crewe .

The young boy was walking between Barnabus Avenue and Badger Avenue when a male grabbed the dog's lead and ran towards the playing fields at Crossroads.

Mela was reunited with her owners one week after she was taken.

A 14 year old male from Crewe has now been arrested and charged to appear at court in relation to the theft of Mela the puppy
