Postal workers on the Isle of Man are to stage a further three days of strike action. It follows a row over changes to their working conditions.

The dates for the industrial action are the 14th, 15th, and 16th of February.

Ahead of the planned strikes, the Isle of Man Post Office has released an open letter with the title "Why Isle of Man Post Office needs to change."

An open letter from the Isle of Man post office

The letter states:

We believe our strategy and the changes we are looking to implement over the next five years will sustain the business in the long-term, creating a modern organisation which is fit for the future, and offers value for money services to our residential and commercial customers. Not implementing the proposals is forecast to lead to a £4.5 million loss by 2022.

Previously, the Communication Workers Union stated:

We have received excellent support from the public and we genuinely hope they understand that our action is a legitimate protest to the ridiculous nature of these negotiations. Our members clearly see management’s approach as an underhand and deliberate attempt to undermine the collective bargaining process.
