Homophobic note was left on a woman's car

A homophobic note was left on a woman's car - even though she is straight.

The woman parked in a residential street in St Helens on Sunday evening while staying over at her fiancé's house.

She found the note when she returned to the car yesterday morning.

The note reads:

"Can U stop parking here please, can U park outside your gay partner's house"

– Offensive note

The stunned driver, who described herself as 'straight' but does not want to be named, shared the note on social media.

It quickly attracted more than 200 comments, with users claiming the note is "shocking", "disgusting" and "homophobic".

She said she has never had an issue with anyone living in the street before and has no idea who left it.

She said:

I noticed it yesterday morning at 5:30am. The house I was at was my fiancé's. We're straight, unsure on why the bottom comment was made towards us as we've never had dealings with any neighbours.

– Victim

According to the law about parking outside someone's house, there is no legal entitlement to homeowners when it comes to parking outside their own home.
