Warrington will fall silent on Wednesday 20 March to mark the 26th anniversary of the bomb attack which killed two children and injured dozens of others.

Two IRA bombs went off on Bridge Street 12-year-old Tim Parry and three-year-old Johnathan Ball. More than 50 people were injured.

A commemoration service – organised by the Peace Foundation and attended by the Mayor of Warrington, families of victims of the attack and faith leaders - will be held on Bridge Street. A minute’s silence will be observed at 12.27pm.

We will never forget that dark day 26 years ago, and the huge impact it had on everyone in our borough, and beyond.

– Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Karen Mundry
